Welcome to Billingsgate Trading Co.! Founded in 2000 by two local Cape Coddahs—we began as a gift package company specializing in coastal themed entertaining products.

Our products were featured in magazine such as Better Homes & Gardens, Yankee Magazine, Coastal Living, and Gifts & Decorative Accessories. In the past, they could be purchased from stores all along the east coast, but today our products can only be found for sale here on our website.

So where is Billingsgate? You won’t find it on any map, not today anyway. Billingsgate is the Atlantis of Cape Cod. A small island off the coast of Wellfleet, Massachusetts, Billingsgate was home to a thriving fishing and shell fishing industry for hundreds of years. But the rising tides prevailed and the island slowly disappeared into the sea until 1942, when it vanished completely.

We believe our line of coastal themed products continue Billingsgate’s legacy of fishing and dedication to life on the sea. We hope you’ll agree our products celebrate not only the spirit of the families and folks that lived and worked on Billingsgate, but of coastal living everywhere.

In our own effort to not vanish into a sea of pirates and marauding chain stores we are expanding beyond online sales to product design and development consulting, customer service and product evaluations, and small business development. However, while we sail through these uncharted waters, we still plan on bringing many exciting, new products to market. Check back with us soon to see what’s on the horizon!
